Greenside Training’s Advanced Optics Application: Observation, Detection & Visual Intelligence course can be scheduled as a private program for agencies, organizations, clubs, businesses, or groups. Open-enrollment courses may also be arranged for individual participants.

Course Format

The program can be delivered as:

  • A one-day introductory course
  • A two-day comprehensive field course
  • A customized agency or professional-development program
  • A private course for hunting, outdoor, or conservation groups

Course length, content, and practical exercises can be adapted to the host organization’s operational needs, experience level, environment, and available equipment.

Host Requirements

The host should provide:

  • A classroom, meeting room, or covered instructional area
  • Access to a safe outdoor observation area
  • Terrain offering varied distances, vegetation, structures, or visual complexity
  • Adequate parking and restroom access
  • Any required site permissions or agency approvals
  • A designated point of contact for coordination

Urban, rural, desert, woodland, mountain, and mixed environments can all support this training. Greenside Training will assist in evaluating the proposed location and designing observation exercises appropriate to the site.

Students should bring binoculars and any personally issued observation equipment they regularly use. Tripods, rangefinders, monoculars, spotting scopes, and other optics are encouraged but not required unless specified in the final course plan.

Travel and lodging expenses may apply to programs conducted outside the local training area. Mobile training is available throughout the United States for qualifying groups and agencies.
